Wedding in Mexico

More than a week ago now my family traveled to Mexico City to celebrate the marriage of my brother Stephen to Lourdes Pedrosa. Some of you know they were married "legally" in December in the U.S. so they could begin to work through all the immigration processes required. The priest who married them is originally from the United States, so he took it upon himself to conduct much of the ceremony in both English and Spanish. It was amusing to watch him toy with Lourdes and Stephen as he made decisions, seemingly on a whim, as to what portions of the ceremony would be in either language. So, now they are dually wed, and we will be celebrating this with friends in family in the U.S. on Saturday, July 7th at an informal picnic. It appears that one of the perks of having a bi-national marriage is there are a lot of parties to go along with it!
