Saturday Swim and Breakfast

On Saturday, July 14th a group of Madisonians gathered for the 2nd (dare, I say) Annual Lake Mendota Swim. We'll see about that annual bit now that Annie is off on a Fulbright to Mongolia in August. Although, Paul did say he could organize next year's. It was a blustery morning and the waves were choppy. After the canoe took on a bit of water and everyone realized that the original swim wasn't such a good idea, we redirected the morning's destination to Tenney Park a little more than a mile eastward. Thankfully, I'd thrown my mini-grill into my trunk that morning, so those of us on the breakfast crew were still able to get a fire going and bring everyone's gear to greet them on shore. Thanks to Tim, Clare, and John -- the self-appointed lead cooks for the event -- and for all the contributions to the meal made by all. Breakfast was delicious!
