Disolutionment

As much as one prepares for the inevitable, it's still relatively heart-breaking to see one's grades in law school...well, at least for some of us, me included.  Without a doubt the worst grades I have ever earned in my entire life.  It's difficult to make sense out of having one of the most stimulating academic experience (and I've had a lot of these) and find the end result to be the least fulfilling.  I didn't fail out, but I certainly didn't earn any grades that are worth talking about.  Thankfully, it isn't my goal to work for a big law firm.  We've been told repeatedly that these first-semester grades are extremely important for getting those first jobs.  Those of us more interested in government and public interest positions are less affected by the grade wars.

As a new semester begins I need to put these grades behind me and focus on my reason for being here...the learning.
